Rings, rings, rings ….

Did you know that the custom of giving and receiving finger rings dates back over approximately 6,000 years.

There have been found rings for example from the Egyptians, like the scarab ring, amazing!!!!!

You can find it here : http://www.adin.be

When we talk about rings we have to talk about wedding rings!!! Even if I’m not a fan of them!!! I know I know it doesn’t sound good but it’s the reality!

I never use my wedding rings!! :S jeje is not that I don’t like them … but I mean why do  I have to use the same rings every day!!! :S I don’t know I feel much more attached to a pair of earrings that my husband gave me when we were at Rome 🙂

And also my husband himself lost his wedding ring!!! YES HI LOST IT!!!! Jajajaja and the funny part of this, is that he feels much more angry about it than me.

Well back to the point, wedding rings. The use of them was established during the World War II.

And why the fourth finger of the left hand (the ‘ring finger’)???? because is associated with an old belief that the left hand’s finger is connected by a vein directly to the heart: the vena amoris or vein of love. This idea was known in 16th and 17th century England, when Henry Swinburne referred to it in his book about marriage. It can be traced back to ancient Rome, when Aulus Gellius cited Appianus as saying the ancient Egyptians had found a fine nerve linking that particular finger to the heart.

Interesting right? Mmmmm maybe I should start wearing them jejejej

Anyway, here are my favorite rings!!!! 🙂

Silver Love !!!

I want to start talking about one of my favorite material, SILVER!!!! For me is not as “serious” as gold so it lets designers be more playful and more creative, I think.

Silver has been around us for a long time. Did you know? The first mine of silver was found in Turkey between 4,000 and 3,00 B.C
Probably the most important role of this metal was in the creation of United States currency, in fact, Congress used silver to create the U.S. monetary system in the late 1700s. (www.metallixrefining.com)

Right now the countries that produce the most amount of silver are Mexico and Peru, United States is positioned in 9th. Place.

And here is a taste of the amazing things you can find in silver …
ENJOY!!!! ☺
